This list was developed as a way to reduce the impact on the most popular mountains, such as Mt Washington, by increasing hiking of lesser known mountains.
With 47 out of the 48 off of my list and having climbed several of the mountains multiple times, I have had many adventures with great people. My most used reference list is http://4000footers.com/nh.shtml. This has an alphabetical list that can be printed as a check list. It can be a resource by clicking on the mountain list to get maps and descriptions. I copied the list out into an excel file to use for scheduling the hikes, describing the hikes and who I was with when I accomplished the hike. This list can then be used as a basis for applying for the AMC Four Thousand Footers Club which recognizes applicants for completing the list of New Hampshire Four Thousand Footers. http://www.amc4000footer.org/how-to-apply.html
Another great resource is the White Mountain Guide. This is a guide to hiking in the White Mountains that comes with maps. I usually research with these maps and the book then bring the relevant map with me in an accessible front pocket during a hike. You can buy the book online at https://amcstore.outdoors.org/books-maps/books/hiking/white-mountain-guide-30 or look for it in stores.
